The BeeRING HUT

We design and build bee sanctuaries via modular hexagonal-shaped shelters (known as The BeeRing Hut) housing as many as thirty bee natural habitats.

Multifunctional use of the BeeRing Hut

Contemplative

The visitors can experience the wonder of the bees in their natural habitat

Educational

Educational and awareness events to learn about the amazing world of the bees and their fundamental role on our lives

Research

Research work, as each individual habitat can house non-invasive acoustic and sensing devices, such as miniature microphones, thermocouples, and hygrometers

Holistic

Find peace, spirituality and connection with the world around us, supported by the transcendental experience provided by the bees.

Beekeping

Harvest all the products, including the honey, generated by the bees in their natural habitat.

Apitherapy

With the help of experts perform complementary and alternative medicine using bee-based products

Our first BeeRing prototype was built in Vero Beach, Florida, recently we built a fully functional BeeRing in Jardines de Mexico, the largest floral garden in the world, located in Mexico.

Five of the six walls in the BeeRing Hut are used to house six copyrighted hexagonal-shaped insertions (observation hives) that have open access at the outdoor side of the unit to allow bees to build their natural habitat in each hexagonal shaped insertion. The indoor side of these hexagonal-shaped insertions is sealed with glass or screen, allowing visitors to appreciate the activity of the bees and listen to them in their natural habitat. Researchers will also be able to conduct a variety of research as these observation hives can accommodate microphones, sensors, and probes connected with the required data acquisition systems placed also inside the center.

The fact that the BeeRing Huts have the capability of housing 30 natural-habital hives in a reduced space with handy access to sensors to perform any type of study makes the design and operation of these BeeRings exceptional.

Network connectivity with all BeeRings would allow them to share research results and activity information leading to a beneficial outcome for the wellbeing of the bees and ultimately of human beings.

Our ultimate goal is to build and connect BeeRing Huts worldwide. Research and advocate teams would be remotely connected to share their research outcome, promote awareness about the importance of the bees, and inspire people and communities to act as advocates for the wellness of the bees.

At the BeeRing Hut visitors have access to the interior without disturbing the bee activities and is intended to be built in botanical gardens, parks, and specific sites with with the purpose of raising awareness on the crucial role of the bees in human life. People need to learn that without bees there would be no flowering plants, and without flowering plants there would be no bees.
